2022 Year of the Nurse Educator Award

Recognizing  Nursing Education Excellence, Innovation, and Inspiration

The National League for Nursing invites nursing students, nurses, deans and directors of schools of nursing, and administrators in health and hospital systems to nominate a nurse educator to be recognized as a 2022 Nurse Educator of the Year.

Submit a nomination today, if you or someone you know exemplifies nursing education excellence, innovation, and inspiration, and continues to help transform and make an impact on nursing education.

How It Works

1. Who can be nominated?

Nurse educators, i.e. dean or director, clinical educator, academic educator, simulation educator, education specialist, or nursing faculty.

2. Eligibility

Must be a current NLN member and meet the ethical responsibilities of nursing in keeping with the NLN Core Values of Caring, Integrity, Diversity & Inclusion, and Excellence.

3. Criteria

  1. Demonstrates outstanding teaching and mentoring abilities and/or impact
  2. Inspires nursing students to educational and professional success and passion for the nursing profession
  3. Respects and encourages students from diverse backgrounds
  4. Challenges students to expand their knowledge in innovative ways
  5. Serves as a role model for students and other faculty

4. Nomination Deadline

July 8, 2022

5. Recipients

  1. Up to five nurse educator nominees will be awarded and honored as a Nurse Educator of the Year at the 2022 NLN Education Summit, September 28-30 in Las Vegas.
  2. Awardees must provide a 30 to 60-second video on who and what inspired them to enter nursing education and the satisfaction they find in teaching and mentoring others. Videos will be played at the 2022 NLN Education Summit.
